This animated marquee overlay transforms real-time weather data into a smooth, continuous scrolling ticker, ideal for news-style broadcasts, IRL streams, travel shows, flight simulators, and professional studio layouts. Powered by the OpenWeather API, it delivers up-to-date conditions in a clean horizontal crawl that blends naturally into lower-third or banner-style scenes.
The overlay displays a sequence of weather elements such as local time, city, temperature, humidity, wind speed, and cloud coverage, each accompanied by intuitive emoji-style icons for instant visual recognition. All values update live without interrupting the scrolling animation, ensuring a seamless broadcast experience.
Automatic Location Resolution
You can define the target area by city name or by precise latitude and longitude. When coordinates are not provided, the system automatically resolves the location using OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim geocoding service, guaranteeing accurate positioning for any place in the world.
Fully Configurable Marquee Behavior
The scrolling behavior is controlled through a simple configuration file. You can set the direction (left or right), animation duration, spacing between data blocks, and refresh interval for weather updates. This allows you to match the motion speed and density of the ticker to your broadcast style, from subtle ambient motion to fast-paced news crawls.
Custom Theme & Typography
The entire visual appearance is driven by CSS variables. Background color and opacity, corner radius, font family, font size, text color, and shadow depth can all be adjusted to perfectly integrate the marquee with any overlay pack, branding color scheme, or scene composition.
Modular Data Blocks
Each information segment—clock, location, temperature, humidity, wind, and cloud coverage—can be individually enabled or disabled. This makes it easy to build minimal tickers for gaming streams or full meteorological crawls for IRL, outdoor, or informational content.
