🌫️ Prologue – Fog Over Velwyth (3 min)
In the haunted swamps of Velwyth, mist coils like serpent’s breath. Crows circle over a crooked cottage atop twisted stilts. A lone woman stirs a cauldron that bubbles with black ichor. Her eyes are mirrors, glassy and hollow.
She speaks not aloud, but into the wind. “The Key walks with shadow. The mirror must be shown… or all will burn.”
A silver hand reaches from the cauldron. It presses against her face, and she vanishes.
🛶 Act I – Into the Mire (7 min)
Alaric, Lysara, and Seyren travel by skiff through Velwyth’s cursed wetlands, guided by floating flame wisps called shadeflies. Their goal: to find Mara the Hollow-Eyed, a witch who once read the fate of kings.
The deeper they go, the more time bends. Night falls too fast. Their memories blur. Trees whisper in their own voices.
Seyren: “This place is alive. It feeds on thought.”
The skiff reaches dry land, Mara’s cottage, nestled among bones and willows.
🪞 Act II – The Mirror Speaks (8 min)
Inside, they find Mara, ageless, yet wrinkled like old bark. She speaks only in questions, her voice echoing in triplicate.
Mara: “Do you seek truth, or merely escape?”
Lysara presents the Key and the relic shard. Mara nods and unveils her artifact: the Witch’s Mirror, a black oval bound in thornsilver.
Each of them must gaze into it.
- Alaric sees a younger version of himself crowned in voidfire, kneeling before a weeping Lysara.
- Lysara sees herself cradling a child made of flame and shadow, who calls her “Mother of Ends.”
- Seyren sees nothing, until Mara gasps. “You are the blindfold. And the blade.”
🧿 Act III – Broken Reflections (6 min)
After the visions, Mara warns them: “The mirror shows not what will be, but what is already becoming.”
The cottage begins to warp. Reality cracks as Velkaeth’s influence bleeds into the swamp. A creature of mirror-shard skin and black tar, The Reflection, crawls from the cauldron.
It mimics Alaric’s face. It draws Noctharis from the air.
The Reflection: “You wear a blade you do not understand. Let me show you what it remembers.”
⚔️ Act IV – Battle of Doubles (7 min)
A surreal battle ensues as the Reflection mirrors Alaric’s every strike. Every injury it sustains appears on Alaric moments later.
Seyren uses a spell of divergence, splitting a shadow from Alaric temporarily. Lysara lights a burning circle around the Mirror. “It began with the Key. Let it end here.”
Alaric shatters the Witch’s Mirror with Noctharis. The Reflection screams and dissolves into glass dust.
Mara collapses, whispering, “The path is cracked now… but still it leads north.”
🌙 Act V – What the Mirror Left (7 min)
Among the ruins, they find a map burned into the wall, written in ancient flame-tongue. Seyren translates: “Beyond the Vale of Teeth lies the Gate of Silence. And beyond that… the Cradle of Ash.”
Lysara takes a fragment of the broken mirror. It glows with her touch. Alaric sheathes Noctharis slowly. “I’ve seen what I might become. That fear must serve me. Not rule me.”
As they leave, Mara’s body turns to withered roots. A whisper trails them: “The mirror never lies. But neither does it warn.”
🎵 Final Montage (4 min)
- In Vaelor, a councilor uncovers a portrait of Lysara, centuries old. “She walks again.”
- The Citadel of Crows begins to mobilize mercenaries. The bounty is raised once more.
- Seyren sits alone, studying the mirror shard. He sees a flicker of his own face, smiling… but not his smile.
- Alaric lights a small fire in the swamp, murmuring a name no longer remembered. “I will not be that man.”
