🌁 Prologue – Eyes in the Fog (3 min)
In a tower half-swallowed by the mist-shrouded city of Duskwatch, ravens circle. Dozens. Hundreds. Each perches silently upon shattered gargoyles and twisted spires. Their eyes glow faintly with violet fire.
Inside, masked figures, draped in shadow-thread cloaks, convene around a table scattered with maps, blood-written letters, and names carved into bone.
At the center: a new target etched in ink-black script. “Alaric Vayne – The Broken Flame.”
One of the masked figures whispers: “Bring him into the fold. Or silence him forever.”
🏙️ Act I – Entering Duskwatch (5 min)
Alaric and Lysara arrive beneath the arch of Duskwatch, a city of whispers and shadow where secrets outweigh coin. The gatekeeper, an old crone with eyes like marbled glass, lets them pass without a word.
“This place smells of knives,” Alaric mutters, hand resting on the hilt of the Blade of Eltharion.
Lysara studies the city’s sigils, ravens, keys, shattered masks. “This is Raven Syndicate territory,” she warns. “They don’t trust easily.”
At the Crooked Feather Inn, they meet Veyna, a Syndicate contact with inked arms and eyes sharp as glass. She brings them an offer: an audience with the Syndicate’s hidden leader, if Alaric completes a task.
🕵️ Act II – The Prince and the Knife (6 min)
The Syndicate wants a man dead. Prince Kael of Sablemere, exiled noble turned tyrant, who now conspires with the Dominion.
“He trades secrets and souls,” Veyna says. “We have reason to believe he knows the location of a Dominion relic.”
Alaric hesitates. “And if he doesn’t?”
“Then he dies for what he’s already done. You swore to fight darkness. This is its mask.”
The target: a masquerade ball in Kael’s fortress, where nobles wear glamour illusions and dance with blades in their sleeves.
🎭 Act III – Masquerade of Shadows (7 min)
Alaric and Lysara infiltrate the ball. He wears a Warden’s mask of polished silver; she, a phoenix mask that seems to burn faintly at the edges.
The halls glimmer with chandeliers and danger. Nobles laugh over poisoned wine, while Dominion agents whisper among candlelit corners.
Alaric finds Kael speaking with a foreign emissary, his tone sharp, but not cruel. There’s no fear in his voice, only resolve.
Later, Alaric corners him in the royal observatory. Blades drawn.
Kael: “They told you I was a tyrant. They didn’t tell you I’m building resistance from within.”
Alaric: “Prove it.”
Kael opens a hidden panel. Inside: scrolls revealing Dominion sleeper cells across three kingdoms. “Kill me, and they win.”
⚔️ Act IV – Blood and Illusion (6 min)
Syndicate agents arrive, having tracked Alaric. They expected an execution. They bring assassins in raven-feather cloaks.
“We can’t let him walk,” one hisses. “Not with what he knows.”
Alaric fakes Kael’s death, stabbing through a glamour-projection. He and Lysara flee through stained-glass corridors, flames trailing behind them.
Kael vanishes beneath a false floor, protected in hiding.
Alaric and Lysara leap from the balcony into the river below as arrows whistle past. A raven watches from the parapet, its head cocked unnaturally… knowingly.
🌫️ Act V – Breaking the Web (5 min)
Back in the shadows of Duskwatch, Alaric confronts Veyna.
Alaric: “You asked for a killer. I gave you a ghost.”
Veyna: “He was never the target, was he?”
Alaric: “No. The real threat is the one pulling his strings.”
He places a Dominion sigil taken from one of the dead assassins on the table.
Veyna, reluctantly impressed, offers a sealed letter. “For the true master of shadows. You may not like what it says.”
Alaric burns the letter before reading it. “I don’t need another chain.”
🕊️ Act VI – Fractures and Firelight (5 min)
That night, Lysara sits by the fire, silent. Her hands tremble.
“You almost killed a prince tonight,” she says softly. “One who may have saved thousands.”
Alaric doesn’t answer at first. Then:
Alaric: “I’ve killed worse men for less. The line blurs more each day.”
She reaches out and touches the scar on his forearm, fresh from the fight. “If you lose yourself, who will I follow?”
“Then remind me,” he says. “When I forget.”
🎵 Final Montage (3 min)
- Kael, alive, writes letters by candlelight, signed with the symbol of the Rebellion.
- In a ruined fortress, the Dominion resurrects a new agent, masked, veiled in silk, voice like broken bells.
- Veyna leaves Duskwatch under cover of night, her loyalties uncertain.
- A raven lands on a temple roof, opens its beak, and speaks in an ancient tongue: “The Flame spreads.”
